Classic Bodyboard Weekends
June 2-3
July 7-8
September 8-9
September 22-23
Sponsored by ThreeSixty Magazine and Sola Wetsuits
What to Expect:
This course caters for riders that haven’t bodyboarded before and
those that have but would like to improve paddling, wave selection, turning,
spinning, rolling and polishing their riding.
Briefly the weekend is aimed at bodyboarders aged between 8 and 80 who are
keen to take part in a fun weekend that will focus on improving their riding.
It’s a great chance to improve all aspects of your bodyboarding skills
from checking the surf, to polishing your cutbacks, choosing a good trim line
and nailing some lip moves.
You’ll be taught by top Bodyboard instructors from the Rob Barber’s
Bodyboarding School and some of the event sponsors team riders.
Video analysis will be used to identify problems and trouble shoot technique
faults. There will also be specific manoeuvre training/fitness tips by British
Junior surf team coach and sports scientist Glenn Eldridge.
Equipment can be supplied for no extra charge or if you have it you can use
your own equipment. More experienced riders will be grouped together to focus on
specific techniques while more novice bodyboarders will be helped through the
difficult early stages of their riding.
What you need:
Your swimming costume, sunscreen and a towel. If you have your own wetsuit,
board or fins you can bring them. We recommend some warm, loose clothing that
you can easily change into and out of. Thin layers and a warm, waterproof jacket are essential.
Location:
Rob Barber’s Bodyboarding School is on the site of The Cribber Green
Rooms Surf Lodge, 30 Headland Road, Newquay (Post code TR7 1HN). For directions
check out the location link.
Food Outlets:
The surf school is based on the site for the Cribber Green Rooms Surf Lodge,
a food menu is available. Town is only a five minute walk away for a number of lunch options.
Fitness:
The fitter that you are, the more you will get out of the course, but it
isn’t boot camp!! If you’re tired you can rest and re join the group
when suits you. It’s a matter of everybody improving at their own pace with
a laid back feel to the course.
Accomodation:
Newquay has a very varied selection of accommodation from surf lodges to
four star hotels. Please contact us with your requirements and we will suggest
some suitable accom options. Alternatively you can contact Newquay tourist
information on 01637 854040.
Saturday Night:
On Saturday night there will be an optional evening meal available this

indicate if this is something that you would be interested in.
