The Gul SurfGirl Experience -
SurfGirl Classic Weekends September 1-2
SurfGirl weekends have taken on a whole new direction this year.
We’ve teamed up with Gul to bring you an action packed surfing experience to rival no other!
What to Expect:
This course caters for girls from 8-80 who haven’t surfed before and those who
have but would like to improve paddling, wave selection, trim, turning and polishing their
riding. You’ll be taught by top surf instructors from the English Surfing Federation
Centre of Excellence plus Gul team riders.
Video analysis will be used to identify problems and troubleshoot technique faults. There will
also be specific manoeuvre training and fitness tips from British Junior Surf Team coach and
sports scientist Glenn Eldridge.
Equipment can be supplied for no extra charge or you can use your own.
More experienced girls will be grouped together to focus on specific techniques while
novice surf girls will be helped through the early stages of their riding. The weekend
will end with a chill-out yoga session.
What you need:
Your swimming costume, sunscreen and a towel. If you have your own equipment please bring it.
We recommend some warm, loose clothing that you can easily change into and out of. Thin layers
and a warm, waterproof jacket are essential. If you have your own yoga mat please bring it
along, otherwise a beach towel is fine.
Fitness:
The fitter that you are, the more you will get out of the course, but it isn’t boot camp! If you’re tired you can rest and rejoin the group when suits you. It’s a matter of everybody improving at their own pace with a laid back feel to the course.
Location:
The English Surfing Federation Surf School is on the site of The Cribber Green Rooms Surf Lodge, 30 Headland Road, Newquay, TR7 1HN. For directions check out the location page. We're right next to Fistral beach.
